ROMEOVILLE, ILL. – The No. 18 University of Missouri-St. Louis men's basketball team rode a fast start en route to a 77-63 GLVC road victory at Lewis on Saturday afternoon.
The Tritons shot 80.8 percent in the first half for a 52-34 halftime lead and finished the game connecting at a 57.7 percent clip.

Yaakema Rose Jr. equaled his season-high with 26 points, netting 10-of-13 field goals, while also adding four rebounds and five assists.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Tritons were 21-of-26 from the field in the opening 20 minutes, including 7-of-9 from three-point range, and made 19 of their first 20 attempts.
UMSL began the second half just 2-of-7 and cooled down to 34.6 percent over the final 20 minutes.
Lewis shot 44.9 percent, including 52.4 percent (11-of-21) from three-point range, and edged the Tritons in rebounding, 27-26.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Junior Jose Grubbs added 16 points, five rebounds and two blocks.
- Redshirt senior Jason Towery followed with 13 points, while redshirt sophomore Steve Webb added 11 points and seven boards.
- Junior Shane Wissink recorded a career-high six steals.
- UMSL outscored the Flyers, 21-6, in points off turnovers. Lewis had 15 miscues, while the Tritons had just nine.
