ST. LOUIS –The University of Missouri-St. Louis men's basketball team overcame a season-high 16 turnovers en route to a 71-63 win over visiting Southwest Baptist on Monday afternoon in Great Lakes Valley Conference action.

HOW IT HAPPENED
UMSL clung to a 29-28 halftime lead after leading by as many as 13, committing 10 miscues in the first 20 minutes.
The Tritons pushed the lead back to double figures at 47-37 with 13:32 to play before Southwest Baptist followed with a 17-3 run, capped with 12 unanswered, and took their first lead of the game at 54-50 with 7:28 remaining. UMSL then put the next eight points on the board and retook a lead it wouldn't relinquish.

- UMSL shot 46.9 percent, while Southwest Baptist shot 39.6 percent.
- The Tritons owned a 35-29 rebounding advantage with junior Marty Jackson grabbing eight boards to go withnine points.
- Senior Shane Wissink also finished with nine points and added four assists.
- Redshirt junior Steve Webb had five assists and was one of three players with two steals.
- UMSL was 18-of-24 at the free-throw line, while SBU was17-of-21 in a game that saw 39 combined fouls.
