EVANSVILLE, IND. – Southern Indiana closed the game with a 15-4 run over the final five minutes to erase a 10-point deficit in defeating the No. 20 ranked University of Missouri-St. Louis men's basketball team, 67-66, on Saturday afternoon.
The Screaming Eagles made the second of two free throws with 4.2 seconds to play for the win, while UMSL was unable to get a shot off.
The Tritons had rallied back from a 13-point deficit early in the second half to take a 10-point lead with 4:55 remaining.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Southern Indiana owned a 34-23 halftime lead as the Tritons struggled offensively, shooting just 24.1 percent.
The hosts took their largest lead of the GAME at 36-23 just 27 seconds into the second half before UMSL scored 11 straight to ignite a 19-2 run over a five minute 37 second span that gave the Tritons a 52-45 lead with 9:02 to play. UMSL was 6-of-8 from the field during that run, including 3-of-4 from three-point range.
Southern Indiana tied it at 52-52, but then 10 unanswered from UMSL gave them their first double digit lead with just under five minutes to go. However, the Screaming Eagles scored seven unanswered to ignite their game-winning run.

- UMSL shot 59.3 percent in the second half to finish at 41.1 percent in the game.
- Southern Indiana shot 46.4 percent, despite going just 3-of-16 from three-point range, and held a 39-26 rebounding advantage.
- Junior Yaakema Rose Jr. led three Tritons in double figures with 17 points, while seniors Jalen Wilkins-McCoy and Jason Towery added 13 and 12 points, respectively.
- Redshirt sophomore Steve Webb pulled down eight rebounds.
- Rose Jr. had four assists, while Wilkins-McCoy recorded three steals.
