CLERMONT, FLA. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis softball team opened its six-day, 10-game trip to Florida with two wins on Thursday morning.
The Tritons snapped West Virginia Wesleyan's four game-win streak with a 2-1 victory before blanking Clarion, 11-0 in six innings.

Sophomore
Ali Schoon drove in UMSL's two runs in the fourth inning on a two-out single in a frame that also saw two errors by the Bobcats.
Schoon's hit was just one of three recorded by the Tritons.
Senior
Andee Tiffee tossed the complete game victory, striking out seven. She scattered five hits, walked three and allowed the one unearned run.

UMSL recorded 12 hits in the victory, including six for extra base – three of which were home runs.
All three home runs came in a four-run fourth inning. Freshman
Irene Travis delivered a two-run shot, while sophomores
Jessica Mrzlak and
Corinne Daley each followed with a solo blast.
UMSL added one run in the first and six in the sixth, in which they tallied six hits. The Tritons put their first six batters on base in that frame.
Daley finished 3-for-4 at the plate with an RBI and three runs scored, while Mrzlak was 3-for-3 with two RBI and three runs.
Freshman
Jenna Towle earned her first collegiate victory in the circle, striking out five and scattering six hits in five innings.
