CLERMONT, FLA. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis softball team posted a 7-4 victory over Ohio Dominican on Monday during The Spring Games, but finished the day with an 8-1 setback to Winona State.
GAME 1: UMSL 7, Ohio Dominican 4
After seeing Ohio Dominican erase a 2-0 deficit by scoring four unanswered runs, the Tritons answered back with the final five runs of the game.
UMSL recorded nine hits in the win, including two from senior
Andee Tiffee, who also picked up two RBI and the win in the circle in two innings of relief work.
Sophomore
Jessica Mrzlak brought in three runs, including two on a single in the first inning for the 2-0 advantage.
UMSL tied the game in the sixth inning on RBI singles from Tiffee and fellow senior
Morgan Hill before plating three runs on two hits and two ODU errors in the seventh. Freshman
McKenzie Lamos' RBI single gave the Tritons the 5-4 lead they would not relinquish.

GAME 2: Winona State 8, UMSL 1
Sophomore
Corinne Daley drove in the Tritons' lone run with a two-out single in the third. It was one of three hits by UMSL. After that run, Winona State retired the final 12 UMSL batters to end the game. Freshmen
Irene Travis and
Haley Lamberson also had singles.
