ST. LOUIS – The University of Missouri-St. Louis men's basketball team had five players score in double figures and finished 23-of-23 at the free-throw line en route to claiming a 78-73 win over visiting Drury on Tuesday afternoon in Great Lakes Valley Conference action.
The Tritons set a new school free throw shooting percentage record with their perfect performance at the charity stripe, bettering the 14-of-14 performance by the 1980-81 team made in a win over Missouri S&T.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Drury clung to a 33-31 lead at the half before UMSL opened the second 20 minutes of play with a 13-4 spurt to pull ahead 45-37 three and a half minutes in.
The Tritons later reeled off seven unanswered points to break a 59-59 tie and take a 66-59 lead it would not relinquish with 2:44 to play.
The game saw 16 ties and 24 lead changes.
UMSL shot 46.2 percent, including 50 percent in the second half, while Drury connected at a 43.1 percent clip. The Tritons edged the Panthers, 35-33, in rebounding despite Drury having an 11-6 advantage on the offensive end.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Junior Marty Jackson scored a career-high 20 points on 8-of-11 shooting from the field. He also grabbed nine boards and had four assists and four blocked shots.
- Senior Jose Grubbs (15 points), redshirt sophomore Isaiah Fuller (14 points), redshirt junior Kellen King (11 points) and senior Shane Wissink (10 points) all netted double figures.
- Wissink led the team with six assists, while Fuller made all eight free throws.
- Drury's Jason Montgomery scored a game-high 35 points, making 7-of-14 three-pointers.
