Bob Sundvold his 250
th career win.
Sundvold, in his 16
th season as college head coach, has picked up 126 of those victories in eight seasons at UMSL.
The Tritons led by as many as 13 early in the second half before fending off the rally by the Flyers. UMSL, which improved to 3-0 on the road this season, got 17 points each from senior
Jose Grubbs and junior
Marty Jackson. Jackson notched his first double-double by adding 10 rebounds, while Grubbs pulled down nine boards.

HOW IT HAPPENED
UMSL held a 34-27 halftime lead after having led by 12. Five players scored six or more points in that opening half.
The Tritons then opened the second half with the first six points to take their largest lead of the game at 40-27, but Flyers responded by scoring next 12 to pull within 40-39 at the 12:52 mark. Lewis later took the lead at 48-46 with 11:23 to play and after the two teams took turns swapping leads, UMSL took a 63-60 lead it would not relinquish on a
Shane Wissink three-pointer with 3:17 to go.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Wissink finished with 12 points and three assists.
- The Tritons shot 44.8 percent and held a 34-28 rebounding advantage, while Lewis shot 46.2 percent, including 55.2 percent in the second half.
- UMSL was 9-of-25 from three-point range, after starting 7-of-12.
