ST. LOUIS – The University of Missouri-St. Louis men's basketball team ran its win streak to five games on Saturday with a 78-50 win over Illinois Springfield in Great Lakes Valley Conference play.
Five players scored in double figures, while nine different players scored. The Tritons shot 51.9 percent and limited the Prairie Stars to 34 percent. UIS had four players in the scoring column, including three with eight or more.

Lawrence Brazil III recorded 16 points, netting 4-of-5 three-pointers, to lead the UMSL offense.

HOW IT HAPPENED
UMSL ended the first half with 10 unanswered points to take a 41-22 lead into the break.
UIS got within 48-39 six minutes into the second half, but the Tritons followed with a 15-4 spurt and pushed their advantage to 63-43 with 9:31 to play.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Senior Shane Wissink added 11 points, making 3-of-4 three-pointers.
- Junior Marty Jackson added 11 points, while redshirt junior Kellen King added 10 points to go with six rebounds and three steals.
- Redshirt junior Steve Webb equaled a career-high eight assists.
- UIS held a 34-32 rebounding advantage, including an 8-1 edge on the offensive end.
- UMSL equaled a season-low with eight turnovers.
- Bench points were 36-3 in favor of the Tritons.
