Men's Basketball Wins Sixth Straight With Road Victory at Quincy

QUINCY, ILL. –The University of Missouri-St. Louis men's basketball team ran its win streak to six games on Thursday night with a 78-72 Great Lakes Valley Conference victory at Quincy.
 
The Tritons, who improved to 4-0 in road games, fended off a late rally by the Hawks as Quincy got within four points twice in the final 80 seconds.

HOW IT HAPPENED
UMSL ended the first half on a 17-4 run to take a 44-32 lead at halftime. The Tritons found themselves down 23-13 eight minutes into the contest, but answered with 10 straight and later scored 15 straight to ignite that run before the break.
 
UMSL took its largest lead of the game at 57-42 on a three-point play by redshirt sophomore Isaiah Fuller with 12:24 to play, but Quincy used an 8-0 run over the next two minutes to get back in the game.
 
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
  • Senior Shane Wissink scored 18 points, 16 of which came in the first half. He was 4-of-7 from three-point range.
  • Redshirt sophomore Isaiah Fuller and junior Marty Jackson added 13 points each, while Jackson also tallied two steals and two blocks.
  • Redshirt junior Steve Webb finished with nine points, seven rebounds and four assists.
  • UMSL shot 47.5 percent, including 58.6 percent in the first half, while Quincy shot 41.3 percent and held a 40-33 rebounding advantage, including a 13-5 edge on the offensive end.
