ST. LOUIS – Sophomore
Breanna Diestelkamp recorded career highs of 34 points and 13 rebounds on Saturday to help the University of Missouri-St. Louis women's basketball team to an 85-56 win over Illinois Springfield in Great Lakes Valley Conference play.
Diestelkamp, who was coming off a then career-high 24 points in her first collegiate start on Tuesday, made 14-of-15 field goals and all five free throws in today's win. UMSL shot a season-high 58.9 percent and recorded a season-high 24 assists while winning its fourth straight at home.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Diestelkamp had her double-double by halftime, scoring 21 points and grabbing 10 boards in the first 20 minutes. She scored all nine of UMSL's points in the final two minutes and accounted for 13 points in a 20-3 run by the Tritons over the final seven minutes. UMSL took a 37-28 lead into half after trailing 16-15 after the opening quarter.
The Tritons opened the lead to 60-46 heading into the final 10 minutes.
UMSL shot 68.3 percent over the final three quarters.

- Junior Faye Meissner added 12 points on 4-of-5 shooting.
- Senior Alex LaPorta recorded 11 points, seven rebounds and six assists.
- Senior Danielle Berry dished out eight assists, while junior McKenzie Lathrom had five assists and three steals in 15 minutes.
