ST. LOUIS – The University of Missouri-St. Louis women's basketball team suffered a 57-51 loss to visiting Rockhurst on Saturday afternoon in Great Lakes Valley Conference play.
The Tritons shot just 31 percent from the field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
UMSL held a 12-8 lead after the first quarter, while Rockhurst opened the second frame with a 12-5 run, capped with six unanswered for a 20-17 lead. The Hawks took a 25-23 lead into halftime.
Rockhurst owne a 42-33 advantage after three quarters and took its largest lead of the game at 45-33 early in the fourth before UMSL pulled within 51-47 on a three-pointer from senior
Alex LaPorta with 1:26 to play. However, the Hawks drained a three on the ensuing possession and immediately forced a Triton turnover.

- LaPorta finished with 13 points, seven rebounds, four assists and two steals.
- Senior Kyra Hungerford made three three-pointers for nine points.
- Rockhurst connected at a 44.7 percent clip from the field and held a narrow 35-34 rebounding advantage.
- Senior Danielle Berry grabbed eight rebounds and had four steals.
