The UMSL women's soccer team hit the road this weekend for a pair at Maryville Friday and Missouri S&T Sunday.
After playing to a double-overtime draw Friday, the Tritons hoped to get back in the win column Sunday against the Miners, as the season is a mere weeks from concluding..
The Miners, though, decided to toss a wrench into the Tritons' plans, as UMSL fell to the host, 1-0, on an UMSL own goal at the 30:15 mark of the opening half.
The goal came via a Miners free kick.
Ins and outs of the match:
For the Tritons: they had 11 shots, four of which were on goal, two yellow cards, and a total of 10 fouls.
For the Miners: they authored only six total shots, none of which were on goal, zero yellow cards, and seven fouls.
The Tritons drop to 6-6-2 overall and 4-5-2 in GLVC play.
The Tritons have plenty of time to regroup, as they host Lindenwood Sunday Oct. 24.
After that tilt, they close out the season with matches against Southern Indiana Friday, Oct. 29, and McKendree two days later.
The GLVC Tournament is slated for Nov. 7-14.
