The UMSL Tritons wanted to get a leg up on the conference opposition this season.

Mission accomplished, as the Tritons defeated the host, Quincy University, 61-47 Monday evening on the road.

The win pushes the Tritons to 4-1 on the season and 1-0 in GLVC action.

UMSL owned the halftime lead, 27-22, but it still was anyone's game.

Freshman Mallory Ronshausen drilled the early 3-pointer and Jalysa Stokes added a quick two and the Tritons were off and running.

UMSL authored a 9-3 run to close out the third.

Ronshausen led all Tritons with 18 points.

Kiara Stewart tossed in 14.
