TOPEKA, KAN. – Sophomore
Morgan Barnoski tallied four hits, including three for extra base, to help the University of Missouri-St. Louis softball team to a pair of wins on Saturday at the Washburn Invitational.
The Tritons defeated Emporia State, 9-3, and Fort Hays State, 3-1
GAME 1: UMSL 9, EMPORIA STATE 3
Records: UMSL (1-2), Emporia State (2-1)
Barnoski was 3-for-4 at the plate with two doubles and four RBI as the Tritons recorded 10 hits as a team, including five for extra base.
Sophomores
Annie Scaramuzzi and
Irene Travis added two hits each, including a triple, while Travis drove in two runs.
Junior
Mimi Bradley earned the win in the circle, tossing the complete game. She allowed one earned run on five hits, while striking out four and walking four.
GAME 2: UMSL 3, FORT HAYS STATE 1
Records: UMSL (2-2), Fort Hays State (2-7)
Sophomore
Jenna Towle picked up the win in the circle and helped herself at the plate with two hits, including an RBI double.
Towle allowed just one run on seven hits, while striking out five and didn't issue a walk.
UMSL finished with seven hits, including a triple by Barnoski, and also drew four walks.
