ST. LOUIS – The University of Missouri-St. Louis softball team posted a 3-1 victory in the second game of a GLVC doubleheader against Illinois Springfield on Sunday afternoon to earn a split against the Prairie Stars, who took the opener, 7-3.

Game 1: UIS 7, UMSL 3
The Prairie Stars were aided by a five-run third inning, which included a three-run homer.
UMSL jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first on a sac fly from junior
Jessica Mrzlak. The Tritons added two runs in the fourth to pull within 6-3 on an RBI single from sophomore
Haley Lamberson and an RBI groundout from junior
Anna VanGundy.
UIS out-hit UMSL, 12-7.Sophomore

Jenna Towle and Scaramuzzi combined to record nine strikeouts from the pitchers circle.
Game 2: UMSL 3, UIS 1
The Tritons recorded just four hits, but scored on a RBI doubles from Scaramuzzi and Mrzlak in the first inning and a solo home run from Daley in the fourth.
Junior
Mimi Bradley tossed her second complete game victory, allowing just one unearned run on six hits. She struck out three and did not issue a walk.
