ST. LOUIS – The University of Missouri-St. Louis baseball team recorded a 12-8 victory in the first of two games against Drury on Tuesday afternoon. The visiting Panthers won the nightcap, 21-3.

GAME 1: UMSL 12, Drury 8
UMSL recorded 10 hits, including five for extra base, with three of those being home runs.
The two teams combined for four home runs in the first inning – two from each team. The Panthers took a 6-0 lead after their first at-bat, while UMSL countered in the bottom of the frame with back-to-back solo home runs from
Carson Holin and
Mitchel Becher.
A six-run second inning, capped with a two-run homer from
Clayton Stephens, gave UMSL an 8-6 lead it would not relinquish.
Stephens added a two-run double to finish with two hits and five RBI, while Becher also finished with two hits.
Holin drew three of UMSL's six walks and finished with two RBI and three runs scored.
Jacob Mosher picked up the win in three innings of relief work, allowing one run on three hits, while striking out four.
Trent Anderson earned the save in three innings of work. He gave up one run on two hits.
GAME 2: Drury 21, UMSL 3
Like the first game, Druy jumped out to an early lead, scoring seven in its first at-bat, but this time never looked back, scoring 21 runs on 13 hits and 12 walks.
UMSL scored twice in the first inning on a pair of two-out, RBI singles from
Mitchell Spindler and
Josh Shoemaker and got an RBI single from
Bryce Burton in the third inning.
The Tritons had five hits.
