EMPORIA, KAN. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis softball team opened play at the ESU Classic on Friday, dropping games to Concordia-St. Paul, 6-2, and Fort Hays State, 6-3.
Game 1: Concordia-St. Paul 6, UMSL 2
Records: CSPU (2-3), UMSL (3-4)
UMSL out-hit the Bears, 9-7, but left eight runners on base.

Haley Remington was 2-for-3 at the plate.
Both Triton runs came in the third inning and trimmed the deficit to 3-2. Sophomore
Morgan Barnoski reached on an error, allowing junior
Anna VanGundy to score before sophomore
Annie Scaramuzzi scored after Barnoski was caught stealing second.
Game 2: Fort Hays State 6, UMSL 3
Records: UMSL (3-5), Fort Hays State (5-8)
The Triton bats were limited to three hits, while the Tigers rattled off 11.
Barnoski was 3-for-4 at the plate with two RBI and two runs, delivering a solo home run in the sixth and an RBI double in the seventh.
