Women's Soccer Hands No. 25 Lindenwood its First Loss

ST. CHARLES, MO. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis women's soccer team upset No. 25 ranked and previously unbeaten Lindenwood, 1-0 in overtime, Thursday night.
 
Junior Jalyn Richardson netted the golden goal with 46 seconds left in overtime with her first goal of the season.
 
Records: UMSL (4-4-3, 4-4-3 GLVC), Lindenwood (7-1-2, 7-1-2 GLVC)
 
Richardson was fed the ball from junior Ayana Weissenfluh and fired from 10 yards out into the lower right. Weissenfluh had stolen the ball from Lindenwood as they sent the ball into the midfield.
 
Defensively, the Tritons notched their fifth shutout of the season, while holding Lindenwood scoreless for the first time this season. Senior Amber Hayes made eight saves in goal.
 
Lindenwood outshot UMSL, 18-11, including 8-6 in shots on goal. UMSL owned a 5-0 advantage in corner kicks.
 
Senior Sarah Lyon put three of her team-high four shots on goal.
