ST. LOUIS, MO. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis baseball team lost 12-7 and 12-1 decisions to Indianapolis on Friday in the start of a four-game GLVC series.
Records: UMSL (5-20, 3-15 GLVC), Indianapolis (13-9, 11-3 GLVC)
Game 1: UIndy 12, UMSL 7
John Hilpert delivered a pinch-hit, two-out, three-run double in the sixth to the tie the game at 4-4, but the Greyhounds countered with a three-run seventh to go back on top.
Josh Shoemaker added three RBI with his home run to dead center field that brought the Tritons within 12-7 in the eighth inning.
Bryce Kulinski also picked up an RBI on a single in the fifth inning that got UMSL on the board at 4-1.
UIndy out-hit the Tritons, 14-7. Hilpert also picked up a single.
Game 2: UIndy 12, UMSL 1
The Tritons plated their run in the third inning on an RBI single from
Brandon Olion.
UMSL finished with seven hits.
Matt DiMemmo scored the run, added a hit and drew a walk.
The Greyhounds recorded 12 hits and jumped out to an early 8-0 lead with four runs each in the first and second innings.
