ST. LOUIS – The University of Missouri-St. Louis Department of Athletics recently celebrated former head men's and women's tennis coach
Rick Gyllenborg by naming the main court of the UMSL Tennis Courts in his honor.
The court inscription was unveiled with Gyllenborg, his family and members of the UMSL community in attendance.
Gyllenborg retired this past spring after leading the men's program for 26 seasons and the women's for 20 years.
His stellar coaching career concluded with 407 wins, 39 GLVC Tournament appearances and 11 NCAA Tournament appearances. A banner recognizing those achievements, which was dedicated by Gyllenborg's sons, Scott and James, will also remain a permanent fixture in the tennis facility.
