ST. LOUIS – The University of Missouri-St. Louis women's tennis team wrapped up its fall slate with a 6-1 win over Missouri Baptist on Friday afternoon at the UMSL Tennis Courts. The Tritons improve to 2-0 while the Spartans fall to 0-4.
UMSL won both doubles matches that were contested as its number one team of
Maja Lietzau and
Hannah Tse defeated Mariana Azevedo and Faith Griese 6-1.
Anna Domingo and
Anna Favaron beat Nina Vaslijkovic and Genie Hong a 6-0.
The Tritons won five of the six singles contest. Domingo knocked off Vaslijkovic 6-1, 6-1 at number one singles. Lietzau swept Hong 6-0, 6-0 in the second singles match. Tse beat Azevedo in straight sets 6-1, 6-0, Favaron rallied to defeat Griese 2-6, 6-1, 10-2 at number four singles and
Kaitlyn Challis handed Mia McIsaac a 6-1, 6-1 defeat.
UMSL begins its Spring schedule on Friday, February 3 as it hosts Eastern Illinois.
