SOMERS, Wis. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis men's and women's cross country teams were back in action on Saturday competing at the Lucian Rosa Invitational at Parkside's Wayne E. Dannehl National Cross Country Course in Somers, Wis. The men finished 10th with 239 points while the women were 12th with 372 points.
Benjamin VandeBrink was the top finisher for the men covering the 8K course in a time of 25:32.94 to finish in 10th place.
Toby Middleton was the next finisher as he crossed the line at 26:26.25 to come in 36th.
Sam Savastino finished at 27:04.17,
Matthias Shelp came in at 27:25.56 and
Brett Lynch touched the line at 27:29.70.
Gavin Love and
Michael Wright rounded out the top seven for the Tritons finishing with times of 27:52.74 and 28:05.82 respectively.
Sean Ede finished right behind Wright at 28:07.05,
Dylan Forsythe came in at 30:29.28,
Donald Mahoney finished at 31 minutes even and
Ricardo Menjivar crossed the line at 32:50.04.
For the women,
Kayley Heeter turned in the top performance as she covered the 6K course in a time of 24:29.85.
Peyton Brueck was the second Triton to cross the finish line at 25:26.16 and was followed by
Megan McMillen at 25:37.53.
Ella Tynan and
Lily Wagemann finished with times of 26:40.71 and 27:02.01 respectively while
Natalie Wiedl came in at 27:24.33 and
Lauren Bearden-Keyser finished at 29:11.67.
The Tritons return to the course on Saturday (Oct. 22) as they travel down to Huntsville, Ala., to compete in the UAH Invitational at John Hunt Park. The meet is scheduled to begin at 7:45 a.m.
