O'FALLON, ILL. - The University of Missouri-St. Louis men's tennis team took to the court for the first time this spring against McKendree University at the St. Clair Tennis Center. McK topped UMSL 5-2 in the match.
Karl Heinrichs secured a win for the Tritons (0-1) taking the first set 6-4 followed by a tight 7-6 set two victory.
Raphael Kerndl split the first two sets with Nanase Ebisu of McKendree (5-0). After dropping the second set, 6-1, Kerndl answered with a 10-8 third set win in the No. 5 singles match.

Karl Heinrichs took the top doubles match to tiebreak before falling to Leonardo Frederco and Boriss Kamdem 7-6 (7-5).
The Tritons head to Evansville, Ind. on Feb. 25 to face the University of Southern Indiana at 1 p.m.
