Konstapel Earns First Team All-American Honors

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Zara Konstapel broke her own University of Missouri-St. Louis women's swimming record in the Women's 100 Breaststroke A Final at the NCAA Division II National Championships Friday evening. Konstapel placed seventh in the event to be named a First Team All-American.

The junior shaved 15 hundredths of a second off her prelims time by touching the wall at 1:01.91. The Doetinchem, Netherlands native jumped to seventh place after finishing in eighth in the prelims Friday morning.

Konstapel will swim again Saturday in the Women's 200 Breaststroke prelims. Konstapel will be in the seventh lane in heat four.

Jon Osa is back in the pool on Saturday for the Men's 200 Backstroke prelims. Osa will race in the second lane for heat two. Guillem Masjuan Roca will also race in the Men's 200 Backstroke prelims. Masjuan Roca will start in the third lane for heat three.

The UMSL men will also swim in the Men's 400 Freestyle Relay in the second lane for heat two during the Saturday evening session.
