ST. LOUIS -- University of Missouri-St. Louis junior swimmer Justice Beard received the Linda Vogel/UMSL Swimming Alumni Scholarship on Saturday, Oct. 25, 2025.

Meade was presented the Linda Vogel Scholarship by UMSL swimming alum Tom Lombardo and his wife Michelle.

Vogel swam for the Riverwomen from 1984-1998, the last two years as a member of the men's team (since the women's team was dropped after the 1986 season). Vogel was the epitome of a student-athlete. She graduated in 1988 with an accounting degree and was a member of the Accounting Honors Society.

Vogel was the best teammate always willing to help and make others feel special. She loved UMSL and her Rivermen/Riverwomen. Vogel succumbed to her battle against cancer on July 23, 2012. The UMSL Swimming Alumni are happy to honor Linda's legacy with this scholarship.
