ST. LOUIS, MO. - The University of Missouri-St. Louis women's tennis team picked up their fourth straight win on Tuesday against Maryville University, 4-3. The UMSL men's tennis team fell 6-1 in their match against Maryville. Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Week,
Odette Beagrie, extended her doubles and singles winning streaks to four straight matches each.
Women
Odette Beagrie and
Leticia Lunge secured the top doubles match, 6-2, for the Tritons (5-4). Victoria Lisson and Georgina Cupper won the second doubles match, 6-4, for the Saints (6-4) over
Anna Domingo and
Tara Erler.
Clara Lopez Bueno and
Maja Lietzau won the doubles point for the Tritons with a 6-4 win in the final doubles match.
Odette Beagrie won the No. 1 singles match 6-4, 6-1 over Emily Orlove to continue her win streak.
Maja Lietzau was forced to withdraw during the first set of No. 2 singles which awarded the Saints a point.
Carolina Velazquez fell to
Anna Domingo in the first set of No. 3 singles, 6-4, before rattling off two straight set wins, 6-2, 6-1, to win a second point for the Saints.
Nicole Pafundi also won a point for the Saints with a win in No. 6 singles over
Clara Lopez Bueno.
Tara Erler won the first set of No. 5 singles, 6-3, before claiming the match with a 7-6 tiebreaker in the second set to tie the match at 3-3 for the Tritons.
Leticia Lunge won the first set o No. 4 singles 7-5, but Victoria Lisson claimed the second set 6-4 to tie the match. Lunge answered with a 6-3 third set win to complete the 4-3 win for the Tritons.
Men
Marcos Navas and
Karl Heinrichs won the top doubles match 6-3 to start the match for the Tritons (1-7). Jack Beuttell-Triggs and Yann Frezouls won the second doubles match for Maryville (5-4), 6-4, over
Jose Mayorga and
Raphael Kerndl. Erik Aarthun and Juan Suero defeated
Juan Vigil and
AJ Bower to give the Saints the doubles point.
Jose Mayorga won the No. 3 singles match for the Tritons with a pair of 6-4, 6-4 sets over Jose Hernandez.
Mario Aleksic topped
Marcos Navas in a three set match for the top singles point. Navas won set one 6-3, but fell to Aleksic in the final two sets, 6-4, 6-2.
Beuttell-Triggs defeated
Juan Vigil in No. 2 singles.
Raphael Kerndl fell to Sebastian Trigosso in three sets at No. 4 singles.
Yann Frezouls topped
Karl Heinrichs in No. 5 singles in three sets as well.
AJ Bower fell to Juan Suero in the No. 6 singles match.

The men's and women's tennis teams play host to Northwest Missouri State University on Saturday at 1 p.m. The matches will take place at the Dwight Davis Courts in Forest Park.
