Towle and Bradley Pitch Two Shut Outs in Doubleheader

WINTER HAVEN, FLA. - The University of Missouri-St. Louis softball team has not allowed a run in 20 innings after Mimi Bradley and Jenna Towle both tossed complete game shut outs on Thursday. Bradley threw a five-inning complete game to defeat Holy Family University 12-0 in game one. Towle pitched UMSL to a 4-0 win over Davenport University in the seven-inning second game.

Game One
The Tritons (8-6) started the day with a big first inning. Maddie Snemis walked to lead off the inning, followed by a McKenzie Lamos single to advance Snemis to second base. With one out, Jenna Towle singled to score Snemis. Annie Scaramuzzi followed with a single to score Lamos and advance Towle to third. Scaramuzzi swiped second base and a Corinne Daley single brought home Towle and Scaramuzzi to give the Tritons a 4-0 lead.

Snemis led off the second inning with a walk to get the Tritons rolling again. A Lamos single followed by a walk to Irene Travis loaded the bases. After a pop out, Scaramuzzi grounded out to score Snemis. Daley reached on an error by the shortstop that scored Lamos and Travis to push the Triton lead to 7-0.

UMSL scored three more runs in the third inning when Travis singled with the bases loaded to score two runs and Towle followed with an RBI double.

Holy Family (2-5) recorded their lone hit in the fourth inning with two outs. Mimi Bradley induced a ground out to the second baseman to end the inning.

The Tritons would score two runs in the bottom of the fourth. Snemis grounded into an RBI fielder's choice scoring Ali Schoon. Lamos singled to score Kayla Settles giving UMSL a 12-0 lead.

Bradley finished off Holy Family with two strikeouts and a ground out. The senior threw a one-hit shut out pitching five innings and striking out nine.

Game Two
The Tritons would record all four of their runs off home runs against Davenport (5-7).

Megan Brown hit a solo home run in the second inning to give the Tritons the early lead.

Jenna Towle limited the Panthers to four hits. Towle tossed seven shut out innings with four strikeouts.

McKenzie Lamos hit a two-run blast in the sixth inning to give the Tritons some breathing room.

Corinne Daley led off the seventh with a solo shot to give UMSL all the insurance they needed in the 4-0 victory.

Maddie Snemis was 3-for-4 in game two with a run scored.

The Tritons play St. Cloud State University on Friday at 12:15 p.m. ET followed by a game against Wilmington University at 2:30 p.m. ET. Both games will take place in Winter Haven, Fla. at The Spring Games.
