WINTER HAVEN, FLA. - The University of Missouri-St. Louis softball team defeated Bemidji State University 2-0 on Sunday in Winter Haven, Fla. UMSL had another solid pitching performance from
Mimi Bradley. The second game of the day was canceled by the Spring Games.
BSU (3-11) had a good outing from Stella Dolan on the mound. Dolan threw seven innings with four strikeouts and six hits. Dolan's first six innings were scoreless.
Mimi Bradley was even more impressive for the Tritons (10-7). Bradley pitched a complete game shut out with nine strikeouts and just three hits.
The game was scoreless until the seventh inning. With one out,
Annie Scaramuzzi singled and then stole second base to get in scoring position. After a strikeout,
Riley Schultz singled to score Scaramuzzi and then advanced to second on the throw home.
Megan Brown pinch hit and doubled to score Schultz, giving the Tritons a 2-0 lead.
Bradley completed the shut out in the bottom half of the seventh.
The Tritons will play their final games in Florida tomorrow. UMSL faces Grand Valley State University at 9 a.m. ET followed by Clarion University at 11:15 a.m. ET on Monday.
