INDIANAPOLIS, IND. - The University of Missouri-St. Louis men's and women's tennis teams fell to the University of Indianapolis on Sunday, Mar. 6 at UIndy. The UMSL men fell 6-1. The Triton women lost 7-0 to the Greyhounds.
Men's Tennis
The University of Indianapolis (9-1) won three doubles matches to take the doubles point.
Marcos Navas and
Karl Heinrichs fell in a tough No. 1 match 7-6.
Jose Mayorga and
Raphael Kerndl took the No. 2 doubles match to an extra point, but fell 7-5.
AJ Bower and
Juan Vigil dropped the No. 3 doubles match 6-3.
In singles play,
Raphael Kerndl won the No. 5 match for the Tritons (1-4). Kerndl lost the first set 6-3. The sophomore won the second set 7-6 and followed up with a third set 10-6 win.
The Greyhounds won five of the six singles to pick up the 6-1 win.
Women's Tennis
Odette Beagrie and
Leticia Lunge played a hard fought top doubles match, falling 7-6 to UIndy (7-1).
Anna Domingo and
Tara Erler won the No. 2 singles match in convincing fashion, 6-3.
Maja Lietzau and
Clara Lopez Bueno fell in the final doubles match, 6-1. The Greyhounds won the doubles point over UMSL (1-4) with the two doubles match wins.
UIndy took all six points in singles play to win the match 7-0.
