GREENSBORO, N.C. - The University of Missouri-St. Louis women's swimming 200 freestyle relay team finished 16th in the NCAA Swimming National Championships to earn Honorable Mention All-American honors. UMSL scored two points with their finish in Wednesday's second session.
The UMSL women's 200 freestyle relay team consisted of
Serena Brizard,
Franziska Hauptmann,
Ava Boehning, and
Kate Nelson. Brizard started the Tritons with a 23.78 second first leg. Hauptmann followed touching the wall to record a leg of 23.80 seconds. Boehning turned in a time of 23.97 seconds in the third leg. Nelson anchored the relay with a final leg of 23.46 seconds. The Tritons turned in a time of 1:35.01 to place 16th and score two points.
The top eight finishers in each event are named First Team All-Americans. 9-16 place finishers in each event are named Honorable Mention All-Americans.
The UMSL men's 200 medley relay team of
Guillem Masjuan Roca,
Jon Osa,
Austin Stevenson, and
Aiden Clark was on pace to break into the top-16, but was disqualified during the event.
The UMSL men's 200 freestyle relay team consisting of Masjuan Roca, Osa, Stevenson, and Clark finished 19th with a time of 1:21.32. Stevenson recorded the fastest leg for the Tritons with a time of 20.24 seconds.
The Tritons do not have a participant in the Thursday morning prelims, but the UMSL men's 400 medley relay will swim in the evening session.
