ST. LOUIS, MO. - The University of Missouri-St. Louis men's and women's tennis teams fell to Drury University in Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) play. Both the men and women lost 4-1. The match was moved indoors at Woodsmill Tennis Club with rain in the forecast. The matches started with singles play and ended at a decision.
Men
Juan Vigil scored a pair of 6-3 set wins to claim the No. 2 singles match for the Tritons (2-9, 1-1 GLVC).
DU (8-6, 4-0 GLVC) won the top singles match in three sets.
Marcos Navas won the first set 6-4, but fell 6-3, 6-1 in the final two sets.
The Panthers would go on to win No. 3, No. 4, and No. 6 singles to earn the match victory, 4-1.
No. 5 singles and all doubles matches were recorded as unfinished.
Women
Anna Domingo won the first set of No. 2 singles 7-5. Domingo went on to win the second set 6-3 to earn a point for the Tritons (7-6, 2-1 GLVC).
Drury's (12-2, 3-1 GLVC) Ewa Samberger won the top singles match 6-3, 6-1 over
Odette Beagrie.
Maja Lietzau fell in No. 3 singles 6-2, 6-5.
Clara Kuehlne topped
Leticia Lunge 7-5, 6-0 in No. four singles.
Drury won No. 6 singles by default to claim the match.
No. 5 singles and all doubles matches were recorded as unfinished.
