SPRINGFIELD, MO. - The University of Missouri-St. Louis baseball team lost to Drury University on Friday in the Great Lakes Valley Conference series opener. UMSL had nine hits and left eight on base in the 7-4 loss to DU.
How it Happened - The Panthers got on the board first with a pair of bases loaded walks to score two runs.
The Tritons answered in the top of the third.
Carson Holin led off with a walk. After a fly out,
Kameron Laskowski singled. Holin moved to third on a flyout and later scored on a passed ball.
Mitchell Green singled to put runners at the corners for
Logan Mantz. Mantz doubled to left center to score Laskowksi and Green and give the Tritons a 3-2 lead.
With a runner on in the bottom of the fourth, Jackson Dierenfeldt homered to left center to retake the lead for the Panthers.
the Panthers scratched another run across in the fifth inning.
Leighton Keller led off the seventh inning with a double to left center. After two outs,
Brandon Olion singled to push Keller to third. Laskowski doubled to right field to score Keller, but the rally ended with a ground out in the next at bat.
Drury added a pair of insurance runs with one coming in the seventh and one coming in the eighth inning.
Nick Torres threw five and two-thirds innings allowing five runs on five hits with three walks and three strikeouts.
Dylan Wobbe allowed a run on two hits in an inning and a third.
Trent Anderson tossed an inning and struck out one while allowing a run on two hits.
