ST. LOUIS, MO. - The University of Missouri-St. Louis softball team swept Maryville University in Great Lakes Valley Conference action on Saturday at the New Maryville Softball Field. UMSL won both games 2-0.
Mimi Bradley threw a no-hitter for the Tritons in game one.
Game One
Mimi Bradley was unhittable in game one for UMSL (24-13, 13-5 GLVC). Bradley struck out six Saints (13-14, 8-6 GLVC) in the first no-hitter of her collegiate career. It was the second no-hitter in as many weeks for the Tritons coming on the heels of
Annie Scaramuzzi's no-no against Southwest Baptist in game two last Sunday.
The Tritons scored their runs in the second inning.
Irene Travis led off with a single to center.
Riley Schultz moved Travis to second with a sacrifice bunt. Bradley put the ball in play to reach on an error by the second baseman. Travis scored on the play. Bradley moved to second on a wild pitch and would advance to third on a sacrifice bunt by
Anna VanGundy.
Maddie Snemis singled to score Bradley, giving UMSL a 2-0 lead.
Snemis led the Tritons with three hits. Travis recorded two hits.
Game Two
Annie Scaramuzzi blanked the Saints in game two to push the Tritons' scoreless inning streak to 25. Scaramuzzi has thrown 12 of those innings. The junior threw a complete game shutout allowing five hits and one walk with five strikeouts to earn her 10th win of the season.
UMSL scored early in game two. Snemis walked to start the game.
Megan Brown doubled to bring home Snemis and give the Tritons a 1-0 lead.
With two outs in the second inning,
Morgan Barnoski walked. VanGundy singled to center and Barnoski raced around to score after an error by the shortstop to put UMSL up 2-0.
Travis recorded another two hits in game two.

The Tritons travel to Rolla, Mo. on Sunday to play at Missouri S&T in a GLVC doubleheader starting at 12 p.m.
