Tritons Drop 1-0 Contest To Prairie Stars

ST. LOUIS - The University of Missouri-St. Louis women's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision to Illinois Springfield at Don Dallas Field on Sunday afternoon. The loss drops the Tritons to 3-4, 1-2 GLVC while the Prairie Stars improve to 3-3-2, 2-1 GLVC.

Illinois Springfield held position in UMSL's end of the field for a good portion of the first half and scored on their only shot of the half which came in the 17th minute. Sierra Cenek crossed a ball into the top of the box and Abby Dellamorte scored from about 18 yards out into the upper left corner.

The Tritons had a chance about a minute later but Grace Osvath missed a shot high and then Kendal White had a chance in the 31st minute that was saved by Allison Mirimanian.

The Tritons had four more shots in the second half but were unable to put anything on goal.

Paige Schwartz kept the Prairie Stars from scoring in the second half by making two saves.
