ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis men's and women's swimming teams split its dual meet at Henderson State on Friday evening at Wells Natatorium in Arkadelphia, Ark. The women defeated the No. 23 Reddies 123-96 but the men fell to the No. 8 Reddies 151-83.
On the women's side, the Tritons started the meet off strong as its quartet of
Ella Lantz, Zara Konstapel, Audrey Lantz and
Kate Nelson won the 400-yard medley relay in a time of 3:57.91.
Justice Beard won both the 500-yard freestyle and 1,000 free with times of 5:12.93 and 10:30.78 respectively. Beard and
Rebecca Bechtel went 1-2 in the 500 free as Bechtel finished at 5:19.52.
E. Lantz was the winner in the 200 backstroke in a time of 2:11.10 while Konstapel and
Cheyanne Godleski finished first and second in the 200 breast with times of 2:27.18 and 2:29.72 respectively.
For the men,
Hendrik Bechtel won the 1,000 free in a time of 9:38.76,
Guillem Masjuan Roca won the 200 back with a time of 1:52.87 while
Ryan Conner was second in the event in a time of 1:57.68.
Aaron Wicklund won the 500 free touching the wall at 4:50.86.
Conley Savage took second in the 200 individual medley and the 200 fly. He had a time of 1:57.16 in the IM and 1:52.93 in the fly.
David Reynolds took second in both the 50 and 100 free with times of 21.80 and 48.11 seconds respectively. Masjuan Roca also took second in the 200 free at 1:43.28.
UMSL is back in action on Saturday morning taking on Ouachita Baptist at 10 a.m. at Waggoner Pool in Arkadelphia, Ark.
