ST. LOUIS – Kendal White recorded a hat trick in the University of Missouri-St. Louis women's soccer team's 5-0 win over Upper Iowa on Friday evening at the Creve Coeur Soccer Complex in St. Louis. The win snaps the Tritons three-game winless streak and improves their record to 5-4-3, 4-3-1 GLVC while the Peacocks drop to 2-8-2, 1-5-2 GLVC.
UMSL had the wind at its back in the first half and took advantage netting three goals.
Candice Parziani put the Tritons in front converting a penalty kick in the 34th minute after
Julie Steiger was fouled at the top of the penalty area.
White scored her first goal of the contest in the 38th minute.
Kylie Callison played a ball into the center of the box to Parziani who found White just inside the upper left-hand corner. White's shot got over the hand of Isabelle Wagner for her second goal of the season.
Her second goal came 2:34 later. Callison tracked down a ball near the end line and crossed it into the box. White made a run to the left post and was able to get a foot on it and redirect it past Wagner.
UMSL had a 9-1 advantage in shots in the first 45 minutes including 5-0 in shots on goal and a 4-0 edge in corner kicks.
White's final goal came 2:15 into the second half. The Tritons played a long ball ahead and Trinity Engelhardt came off her line but missed on her clearance attempt and White picked it up and scored into the empty net for her fourth goal of the season.
The Tritons final goal came in the 55th minutes as
Josie Maddox scored her second goal of the season from the right-hand side of the penalty area into the far side of the goal.
UMSL finished the contest with a 13-3 advantage in shots including 8-1 in shots on goal and had six corner kicks to none for Upper Iowa.
The Tritons wrap-up their brief homestand on Sunday hosting Truman State at noon.
