Tritons Defeat Southwest Baptist 3-0 in Regular Season Finale

ST. LOUIS – The University of Missouri-St. Louis women's soccer team wrapped up its regular season with a 3-0 win over Southwest Baptist on Sunday afternoon at the Lou Fusz Soccer Complex. The Tritons improve to 8-5-3, 7-4-1 GLVC while the Bearcats end their season with a record of 4-11-3, 2-9-2 GLVC.

With the win, UMSL will be seeded fifth and take on fourth seeded Lewis next Sunday at Lewis Stadium in Romeoville, Ill., in the first round of the GLVC Tournament. Game time is to be determined.

The Tritons got on the board in the 30th minute as junior Kendal White dribbled through the defense and found junior Kayley Judy on the left side of the penalty area. Judy's shot beat the keeper inside the right post for her sixth goal of the season.

Judy struck again six minutes later. The goal was setup by a great run by junior Jada Holloman. Holloman passed it to White who slid it across the box to Judy who scored her team leading seventh goal of the season.

UMSL outshot SBU 8-0 in the first 45 minutes including 4-0 in shots on goal.

The Tritons added an insurance goal 13 minutes into the second half. Freshman Aubree Wallace played a ball ahead to Holloman who got behind the defense beat the keeper to tie Judy for the team lead with her seventh goal.

UMSL finished the game outshooting the Bearcats 16-2 including 8-0 in shots on goal and had a 13-1 advantage in corner kicks.

Sophomore Mary Kate Neal posted her fourth shutout of the season.

The Tritons and Flyers played to a 1-1 draw on Oct. 1 at Don Dallas Field.
