INDIANAPOLIS – The University of Missouri-St. Louis men's and women's swimming continued its competition on the second day of the IUPUI House of Champions meet at the IU Natatorium in Indianapolis on Friday.
The Triton women are in ninth place with 368.5 points while the men are seventh with 453.5 points.
On the women's side, UMSL had five top 10 finishes, set five school records and earned three "B" standard qualifying marks for nationals.
The 200 medley relay quartet of
Ella Lantz,
Zara Konstapel,
Audrey Lantz and
Kate Nelson finished fifth in the event in a school record time of 1:43.26.
A. Lantz won the consolation final in the 100 fly with a school record time of 55.91 seconds and earned a "B" standard mark.
Kelsey Roth and
Justice Beard finished fourth and eighth respectively in the consolation final of the 200 freestyle. Roth set a school record time finishing at 1:53.21 while Beard touched the wall at 1:54.31.
Konstapel finished third in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:03.04 which was also good for a "B" standard qualifying mark while E. Lantz was third in the 100 back in a school record and "B" standard time of 55.66 seconds.
The 800 free relay foursome of Roth,
Isabella Gruidl, E. Lantz and Beard finished seventh with a school record time of 7:41.36.
For the men,
Aaron Wicklund had the highest finish placing third in the championship final of the 400 individual medley with a "B" standard time of 3:57.88.
Conley Savage took fourth in the championship final of the 100 fly in a time of 48.84 seconds.
The 200 medley relay quartet of
Guillem Masjuan Roca,
Elliot LaBeau, Savage and
David Reynolds finished seventh at 1:30.85.
Hendrik Bechtel came in fifth in the consolation final of the 200 free with a time of 1:41.55 and
Harrison Miller finished eighth in the consolation final of the 100 breast at 58.27 seconds.
The Tritons wrap up competition at the House of Champions on Saturday starting at 9 a.m. (CST) with prelims in the 50 fly, 200 back, 100 free, 200 breast, 200 fly and 1650 free. The finals of those events will get underway tomorrow evening at 5 p.m. (CST
