ST. LOUIS – The University of Missouri-St. Louis men's and women's swimming teams wrapped up competition at IUPUI's House of Champions on Saturday at the IU Natatorium. The Triton men finished sixth out of 10 teams with 694.5 points while the Triton women were eighth out of 13 teams with 553.5 points.
For the men, UMSL had five top six finishes and picked up two "B" standard qualifying marks for the national championships.
Conley Savage won the 200 fly with a time of 1:47.81 and picked up a "B" cut time in the event.
Guillem Masjuan Roca was second in the 200 back with a time of 1:48.34,
Hendrik Bechtel took fourth in the 1650 free with a "B" cut time of 15:44.48 and
Aaron Wicklund finished fifth in the 200 breaststroke at 2:01.52.
The Triton 400 free relay quartet of Masjuan Roca,
David Reynolds, Bechtel and Savage finished sixth with a time of 3:04.68.
On the women's side, UMSL recorded seven top 15 finishes and broke a school record.
Justice Beard broke her own school record in the 1650 free and improved her "B" cut time in the event by 0:15 seconds at 16:56.98.
Zara Konstapel finished fourth in the 200 breast in a time of 2:18.13,
Ella Lantz took seventh in the 200 back with a time of 2:03.53 while
Isabella Gruidl finished seventh in the consolation final at 2:06.49.
Rebecca Bechtel came in 14th in the 1650 free at 17:44.21.
Mackenzie Greenley finished seventh in the consolation final of the 200 fly in a time of 2:10.60.
The Triton 400 free relay foursome of
Kate Nelson,
Kelsey Roth, E. Lantz and
Audrey Lantz finished eighth at 3:28.98.
UMSL returns to the pool on Saturday, Dec. 9, hosting Quincy and Maryville in a triangular meet beginning at noon at the UMSL Swimming Pool.
