KENOSHA, Wis. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis women's basketball team was defeated by Parkside 88-65 on Friday afternoon at De Simone Arena in Kenosha, Wis.
The Tritons drop to 6-6 while the Rangers improve to 6-3.
Jalysa Stokes led UMSL with a game-high 19 points with three rebounds and a steal.
Amaya Blake added a season-high 18 points on 9-of-14 shooting and had four rebounds, two blocked shots and an assist.
Alex Wolff finished with nine points, a team-high five boards and three steals.
The Tritons sot 41 percent (25-for-61) from the floor in the contest including 12-for-16 (75 percent) at the foul line but was just 3-of-12 from beyond the arc.
UMSL jumped out to an early four-point lead but Parkside outscored the Tritons 24-11 the rest of the quarter to take a nine-point advantage into the second quarter. The Rangers extended their lead to 14 points at halftime and led by as many as 27 with 6:33 left to play after a three-point basket by Jaelyn Derlein.
Paty Gallasova led three Parkside players in double figures with 16 points while Chloe Van Zeeland added 15 points and Sheridan Flauger finished with 13 points.
The Rangers shot 55 percent (35-of-64) from the field including 11-of-21 from three and outrebounded the Tritons 38-to-30.
UMSL is back in action on Wednesday (Jan. 4) when it travels to Moloney Arena to take on Maryville at 1 p.m.
