ST. LOUIS – The University of Missouri-St. Louis men's and women's swimming teams won 19 of 22 events in its annual Winter Triangular against Maryville and Quincy on Saturday afternoon at the UMSL Swimming Pool. Team Scores weren't available as of this writing.
The women won all 11 of their events, had 35 top five finishes and took the top two spots in each event.
Kate Nelson, Audrey Lantz and
Kelsey Roth each won two events while
Mackenzie Greenley,
Zara Konstapel and
Rebecca Bechtel had one win apiece. The Tritons 400 medley relay team of Konstapel, A. Lantz, Nelson and
Ella Lantz won the race in a time of 4:01.74 while the 200 free relay quartet of E. Lantz, Roth,
Isabella Gruidl and
Madison Bottorff won with a time of 1:40.91.
A. Lantz won the 500 free at 5:29.67 and the 50 free in a time of 25.11 seconds, Roth was the winner in the 200 free at 1:58.27 and in the 200 with a time of 2:11.00, Nelson won the 100 individual medley at 1:01.74 and the 100 free in a time of 55.27 seconds.
Greenley took the top spot in the 200 fly in a time of 2:15.31, Konstapel won the 200 breast at 2:27.20 and Bechtel was the winner in the 1,000 free with a time of 10:57.56.
The men won eight events, had 37 top five finishes and finished first or second in all 11 events.
UMSL's 400 medley relay foursome of
Guillem Masjuan Roca,
Harrison Miller,
Conley Savage and
David Reynolds won the event in a time of 3:27.23. The 200 free relay quartet of
Jaxson Mahlstadt,
Ethan Boehle,
Mason Stimson and
Elvin Sabanadzovic took second at 1:28.10.
Savage and Reynolds won two events each. Savage won the 100 individual medley and 200 fly with times of 52.18 seconds and 1:54.29 respectively. Reynolds tied for the top spot in 50 free at 21.61 seconds and won the 100 free in a time of 47.08 seconds.
Mahlstadt won the 200 free with a time of 1:45.54, Masjuan Roca was the winner in the the 200 back in a time of 1:56.02 and
Dylan Bonnett won the 200 breast at 2:09.37.
The Tritons travel down to Rolla for its final meet of the semester next Friday at Missouri S&T at 12 p.m. The men will swim a triangular against the host Miners and Rockhurst while the women will swim a dual meet against Rockhurst.
