ST. LOUIS – The University of Missouri-St. Louis men's tennis team fell to Drury 6-1 on Friday (March 24) in a non-conference match at the Forest Lake Tennis Club in Chesterfield, Mo.
With the loss the Tritons drop to 3-8 while the Panthers move to 6-3.
UMSL's lone win the doubles portion of the match came from the duo of
Raphael Kerndl and
Juan Vigil whol beat Marlon Wilken and Louka Queguiner 6-3. Drury won the other two doubles contests to take the first point of the match.
The Tritons got a point in the singles competition from
Tanin Ramnath who beat Oscar Reis 6-3, 6-1 at number five singles. The Panthers Yarolav Sharvy beat
Jose Mayorga 6-3, 6-3 in the first singles contest. Vigil fell to Wilken 6-3, 6-2 at number two singles, Kerndl lost to Tjade Bruns 7-6, 6-3 in the third singles match.
Joshua Mackey was defeated by Queguiner 6-2, 6-1 and
Pascal Maclean-Wood fell to Mark Drozdetskii 6-2, 7-5 in the final singles contest.
UMSL returns to the courts next Tuesday as it travels to St. Charles to take on Lindenwood in its final non-conference contest at 11 a.m. at the Lindenwood Tennis Courts.
