ST. LOUIS – The University of Missouri-St. Louis men's tennis team dropped a 5-2 decision to Hillsdale College on Sunday at the UMSL Tennis Courts. The Tritons fall to 3-3 on the season while the Chargers move to 8-2.
UMSL won two of the three doubles contest to win the opening point of the match.
Juan Vigil and
Raphael Kerndl beat Sean Barstow and Tyler Conrad 6-4 at number two doubles while
AJ Burrows and
Tanin Ramnath defeated Aidan Pack and Nik Wastcoat 6-3 in number three doubles.
Hillsdale won five of the six singles contests to pick up the win. Vigil won his singles contest Brian Hickman 7-6, 6-0 in the second singles contest. Kerndl won the opening set of his match against Pack 6-0 but Pack rallied to win the final two sets 7-5, 7-6.
Jose Mayorga dropped his singles contest to No. 15 Brennan Cimpeanu 6-4, 6-4.
The Tritons return to the courts next Saturday (March 11) hosting Harding at 1 p.m.
