ST. LOUIS – The University of Missouri-St. Louis women's tennis team came up short in a 4-2 loss to McKendree on Sunday at the Dwight Davis Tennis Center in St. Louis. The Tritons fall to 7-6, 0-2 GLVC while the Bearcats improve to 8-2, 2-0 GLVC.
McKendree won both doubles matches to take the first point of the contest.
Hannah Tse and
Maja Lietzau lost to Viola Cipriani and Camilia Fonseca 6-3 at number one doubles while
Anna Domingo and
Anna Favaron fell to Mariana Caicedo and Rhyan Cook 6-3 in the second doubles contest.
Tse got UMSL on the board with her 6-2, 6-0 win over Cook at number three singles while Favaron defeated Caicedo 6-3, 6-1 in the fourth singles contest. Domingo dropped her match in three sets to Manuela Barriga 6-1, 5-7, 3-6 and Lietzau lost to Cipriani 4-6, 6-2, 1-6 in the second singles contest.
The Tritons return to the courts this Saturday as they take on Maryville at the Dwight Davis Tennis Center at 11 a.m.
