LEXINGTON, Ky. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis volleyball team moved up one spot to fourth in this week's AVCA/Taraflex Division II Coaches Top-25 Poll. It's their highest ranking in school history passing the previous high of fifth.
The Tritons are off to their best start in school history at 14-0 after opening conference play last weekend with sweeps of William Jewell and No. 25 Rockhurst.
UMSL is one of four GLVC teams ranked this week. Lewis moved up one spot from 20 to 19 and Rockhurst rose two spots to 23rd. Quincy remains in the receiving votes category.
Wayne State (Neb.) received 39 of the 47 first-place votes cast to remain the top ranked team in the country. Concordia-St. Paul got six first-place votes and is second for the second straight week. Tampa moved up from fourth to third and received a first-place vote and West Texas A&M rounded out the top five receiving the other first-place vote.
The Tritons are back in action this Saturday hosting McKendree at 3 p.m. at the Mark Twain Building.
