ST. LOUIS -- The University of Missouri-St. Louis women's soccer team celebrated senior day with a 1-0 win over UIndy in a hard-fought battle on Sunday at Don Dallas Field. With the win, the Tritons improve to 8-3-2, 5-3-2 GLVC while the Greyhounds falls to 7-6-1,6-4-1 GLVC.
Jada Holloman scored score UMSL's sole goal in the 14
th minute.
Kayley Judy started the play with a heading a goal kick to
Aubree Wallace. Wallace then found Holloman with space on the near side. Using her space, Holloman took a few touches to carry herself to the six-yard box before firing a shot across her body to make it 1-0 Tritons.
UIndy's best chance of the afternoon came from Faith Dean who found herself with space at the top of the box thanks to a through ball. Dean's shot went just wide to keep the score 1-0 in favor of the Tritons.
The Hounds and UMSL ended the match tied on shots with seven each. UIndy had two shots on target while the Tritons had one.
Mary Kate Neal recorded two saves for her fourth shutout of the season, tying her career high in shutouts in a season.
The Tritons return to the pitch on Friday (Oct. 25) traveling to Quincy, Ill., to take on Quincy at 5 p.m. at Legends Stadium.
