ST. LOUIS – Four University of Missouri-St. Louis volleyball student-athletes have been named to the College Sports Communicators 2024 Academic All-District team.
Representing the Tritons are
Hannah Copeland,
Rylee Edson,
Trysta Foster and
Skylar Weaver. The Academic All-America teams will be announced January 14, 2025.
To be eligible for Academic All-District honors, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore in eligibility and academically with a 3.5 or better cumulative grade point average and have competed in at least 90 percent of the team's sets played or started in at least two-thirds of the team's total matches.
Copeland is an educational studies major with a 3.95 GPA. She appeared in all 28 matches this season averaging 2.46 and 2.94 points per set and led the team with a .339 hitting percentage. Copeland had a career-high 18 kills against UIndy on Oct. 12. She was a second team All-GLVC selection this year.
Edson is an elementary education major with a 3.84 GPA. She appeared in all 28 matches with 24 starts this season averaging 2.61 digs per set with a reception percentage of .954 and 29 service aces.
Foster is an accounting major with a 3.94 GPA and appeared in all 28 matches with four starts this season averaging 2.47 digs per set with a .944 reception percentage and led the team with 40 service aces.
Weaver, a business major with a 4.00 grade point average, led the Tritons and was fourth in the GLVC with 5.14 digs per set and a .956 reception percentage. She had 12 matches with at least 20 digs and had three matches with 30 or more digs highlighted by a career-high 35 dig performance in the quarterfinal round of the GLVC Tournament against Lewis. Weaver was a second team All-GLVC selection this year.
UMSL finished its season with a record of 19-9 including 8-5 in the GLVC and advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the fifth straight season and eighth time overall.
