ST. LOUIS – The University of Missouri-St. Louis women's tennis team swept Southern Indiana 4-0 for its second straight win on Sunday afternoon at the UMSL Tennis Courts.
The Tritons (5-3) dropped the number three doubles contest between
Emma Bridges and
Lauren Sweeney 6-0 to Madison Windham and Antonia Ferrarini but rallied to win the next to take the first point of the contest.
Anna Domingo and
Maja Lietzau handed Anais Negrail and Sofia Davidoff a 6-0 loss at No. 1 doubles and
Hannah Tse and
Anna Favaron defeated Rachel McCorkle and Lauren Rowe 6-2.
In the singles portion of the match, Tse swept Ferrarini 6-3, 6-1 at number three singles, Domingo handed McCorkle a 6-1, 7-6 (7-5) defeat and Lietzau clinched the win defeating Rowe 7-6 (7-1), 6-2 in the number two singles contest. The final three singles matches went unfinished.
UMSL returns to the courts next Sunday traveling to St. Charles to take on Lindenwood at the Lindenwood Tennis Courts.
