ST. LOUIS – The University of Missouri-St. Louis women's 400-yard medley relay squad of
Ella Lantz, Zara Konstapel,
Audrey Lantz and
Kate Nelson finished 15th overall to snag honorable mention All-America accolades on Thursday evening in the NCAA Division II Swimming and Diving Championships at the Spire Institute in Geneva, Ohio.
The Tritons swam out of lane one in the second of three heats in the evening final. E. Lantz led it off with a time of 56.23 seconds in the first leg of the relay. Konstapel was next into the pool swimming her leg in a time of 1:01.62 breaking her own school record and handed it off to A. Lantz who turned in a time of 56.09 in the fly portion of the relay. Nelson swam the anchor leg in a school record time of 51.50 seconds.
The other UMSL swimmers that were in competition on an individual basis Thursday finished outside of the top 16, as
Conley Savage had a school record mark of 48.07 in the 100-yard fly and a time of 3:57.50 in the 400-IM.
Aaron Wicklund finished in a time of 3:57.08 in the 400-IM and
Hendrik Bechtel had a time of 1:40.87 in the 200-yard free.
Friday's schedule at the NCAA Division II Championships has Konstapel in the 100 breast, E. Lantz in the 100 back, Savage in the 200 fly and Bechtel in the 500 free and
Justice Beard in the 500 free. The women's 200-free relay team of A. Lantz,
Ava Boehning,
Madison Bottorff and Nelson will swim in Friday evening's finals session.
