ST. LOUIS – The University of Missouri-St. Louis women's tennis team fell to Southeastern Oklahoma State 4-0 on Wednesday afternoon at the SE Tennis Complex in Durant, Okla.
The Tritons (6-5) number three doubles team of
Anna Favaron and
Lauren Sweeney lost to Milana Voloshyn 6-1. In the No. 1 doubles match it was
Anna Domingo and
Maja Lietzau defeating Georgia Hosking and Sara Gonzalez 6-2 but UMSL was unable to grab the first point of the match as its number two doubles squad of
Hannah Tse and
Aleksandra Lopez was defeated by Larissa Correa and Jou Chen Chen 6-3.
In singles action, Domingo lost to Vanessa Nitu in straight sets 6-2, 6-3 in the first singles match. Lietzau dropped the first set of her match against Hosking 6-2 but won set two 6-3 to force a third set. In the third set, Hosking came out on top 6-4. Tse won the first set of her match against Correa 6-1 but lost the second set in a tiebreak 7-6 (7-4) and the third set 6-4. The final three matches were abandoned.
The Tritons wrap up their Spring Break trip on Friday against Harding in Searcy, Ark., beginning at 10 a.m.
